We have to keep a cricket alive in school (at home) for a grade like its a baby. We get to pick if we want male or female and pregnant etc. Is it true that only males chirp and females don't?Is it true...school project?
yes i think i read it somewhere
anyway google it saying crickets facts..Is it true...school project?
I think only males do, one chirp for calling and one for courting.
Yeah they do, to attract mates.
If you buy small crickets, they don't chirp. I have these crickets all the time in my home because I have a fire-bellied toad to feed. They never chirp. I think you don't want a chirper so go small.
Great question:

Here's your answer. You are correct that only males chirp.
