It was just skillfully marketed to seem that way...it was the first movie to really use the internet to generate buzz. To do that, the rumor was started about this film that was ';found'; (The movie, obvs) and that you could read about it on a website...that site was the movie website that was skillfully crafted to seem like some amateur site that a supernatural-crap enthusiast started.Is The Blair Witch Project based on a true story?
do not try researching it ok ...its false ..it is loosely based on the concept of the bell witch haunting and no more ...the whole film is a work of pure fiction ....as is 99% of horror films claiming to be based on true events ...enjoyIs The Blair Witch Project based on a true story?
No...it was a complete work of fiction. When it came out a big fuss was made about it because everyone thought it was real...then when it was revealed it was all made-up, there was another big fuss about it. Basically it was the first documentary type movie of its kind.
