Why did John Hardwood invent the selfwinding watch?and i want a true anwer..for my science project tomorrow!!!

I think it was John Harwood and he did it to make money.





There were already self-winding fob watches and he developed a self-winding wrist watch.





Unfortunately, he lost all his money in the Great Depression
