I see all this conspiracy theory stuff about how Bush was really interested in promoting our oil interests? This makes me laugh. I also think trying to ';revolutionize'; Iraq was a mistake, but to say it was all about oil is stupid.
I would point more to the Neo-con bend prior to the war. Neo-cons believe that the use of military dominance and foreign policy is the best way for the US to positively impact the world. They believe that if we could repeat Japan and South Korea over and over again the world would be better off. I would guess that might be a better explanation for the war in Iraq. Imagine a legitimate economy in the middle east with lots of oil?
This is not a conspiracy theory. This is fact. Just take a look at the New American Century Project charter and see who signed it in 1997. Many of Bush's appointees appear on the signature list.

Yup. That's why we've got permanent bases in Iraq.
Thanks for posting this! Was 1997 New American Century Project was the true fore-teller to the War in Iraq?
I think they secretly rejoiced on 9/11
Alright, not all conservatives believe that military is the only action needed. If that were true we'd be in North Korea and Iran right now! But talks and negotiations aren't always the solution either. Look at Jimmy Carter okay, his all talk no action policy allowed for Russia to invade Afghanistan creating Usama's radicalism. It's also lead to the spread of communist dictators throughout europe, africa, and asia, which lead to the slaughter of millions. Talk does not always work. Sometimes you gotta kick a little butt.
But sometimes you don't, look at Iran and North Korea. We're negotiation with N. Korea and it appears to be working. In Iran, we're talking, not making much progress, but at the same time moderates are streaming into the government because the people in Iran are sick of living in a third world country and they realize the leadership is to blame not the west. Deal with the fact sometimes talk can work, but sometimes they can't.
They wrote a letter to President Clinton in 1998 urging him to take out Iraq by military force.Of course this is fact. Now to make the majority realize this and hold the guilty accountable
The Neo-Cons had this thing planned out for years. That's why they got George Bush to be a candidate, he's easily manipulated.
